Dear All, As we near the end of term I
thought I should drop you a quick message of Christmas cheer! I hope all you young riders have put your name down on
the party list- just so Santa knows you are coming! That is on Friday 4th of Dec, 1:30-3:30pm, Mallared Hotel Gullane. Hopefully
helpers from all the youngsters sessions can come along? Adult Riders will have parties on their last riding days It has been a tricky term and the disruption to riding sessions will continue next term.
Thank you for your forbearance – we are half way there!
Fundraising has continued so we should be able to furnish our new facilities! We have one or 2 dates left this year: Sat 12th Dec

are to be off next term or will hear from us shortly. Helpers come back on their usual days the
week beginning 18th Jan 2010 Riders for this coming term come back on their usual days the week beginning
25th. Jan. The start dates are a week later than usual because of the building work. Hopefully next term
will be drier than this term but please everyone wrap up warm next term. Maybe Santa Claus will bring us thermal undies!
Over the holidays I am sure Gill and Jenny would welcome a bit of help with the ponies. So, if you think you will miss our
hairy friends too much, please give us a call and we can arrange for you pop down and say hello, give them a carrot and pick
a barrow load of poo! If the weather turns really cold they sometimes need the ice broken on their water troughs
too. At least, thanks to Jenny, they will have comfy “mattresses” in their shelters! Now, Riders, I must ask
that you do not eat too many sweets, chocolate and mince pies in the holidays or you will be too heavy for your ponies! Helpers
too – if you over indulge you won’t be able to keep up when we trot!
Looking ahead to next year and when
we finish the building (hopefully around March/April) we are planning a very special event, an “Animals in Service Day”.We want to show everyone
how special our ponies are and how much they help us. We will also invite other people along who will bring their Guide Dogs,
Hearing Dogs, and Police Horses and so on. Do you think that’s a good idea?
Well I will finish now by saying
to all our wonderful Helpers: “Thank you for all you do throughout the year. You give your time,
your skills, your caring and dedication” To all of our wonderful Riders “Thank you for
coming along, trying so hard and being so brilliant! You are the reason we all help out with riding. You give us fulfillment,
friendship and fun! May everyone have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to a great
New Year! With love from Susan and, of course, our 4-legged friends Bibi, Rocky, Kish, McGregor, Otis,
Molly, Arlo, Bryony, Hjarrandi, Jess, Sally, Smartie, Sonic & Bracken xxx
