The First Sod Has Been Dug! On
Saturday the 29 August 2009 we dug the first sod for our long-awaited facilities upgrade. Hjarrandi our Icelandic horse and
Pudsey the Bear from BBC’s Children in Need came along to see what all the fuss was about, and to try steal a few biscuits!
Lots of Muirfield RDA helpers, riders, family and friends came along to lend a hand digging the first sod! We
even had the help of The Mussleburgh Rotary Club President who presented us with a cheque for 1,500 pounds.
A massive boost to our two year fundraising effort!
Afterwards,
everyone headed to the arena to enjoy some delicious bacon rolls and hot drinks, as the weather gave way to a bit of
rain. A BIG Thank You to all who attended and also to all the volunteers
and riders who have helped to make this huge dream a reality. We are excited about the future of Muirfield RDA
and look forward to sharing it with you.
Building is now underway!
