Lots of different people of all capabilities come to RDA. There are many reasons they choose to ride. Whether
it be for therapy, to learn a new skill or simply a love of horses everyone gains something special from the experience.
This page is designed especially for all you Muirfield riders. If there is anything
you would like to see on here get in touch! Email the website!
Here's some points from you riders.......
"I enjoy riding the horses because it is good
physio for my leg and is helping me to get better. I look forward
to riding because everyone is nice and kind to me and the ponies are really friendly. My favourite part is when we ride around the farm. I can't wait to go riding again."
Nathan
"Since Nathan has been unable to walk for the last 12 months we
welcomed the opportunity for him to ride with the ponies. We have seen a vast improvement in his confidence and he now has
something to look forward to at the weekends. The volunteers at the centre are all so caring and committed and we are grateful
for all their help. Nathan has had the chance to make new friends, both riders and helpers"
Julie and Gareth Evans
"What a lovely day Tuesday is - it is
horse riding day! David knows because he sees a photo of his pony Smartie and Ben knows because he sees his
riding hat. There is a great excitement on the way to Muirfield RDA. We arrive to a friendly welcome from friends, leaders,
the sidewalkers, and of course the ponies!"
Sue - teacher, Meadow Park
"Because I have been in a wheelchair for 9 years, riding a horse
makes me feel like I am walking. It also gives me an enormous sense of achievement. When I ride Prince he makes me feel like
I am part of him and we look after each other. It is a great feeling to know he enjoys me riding him."
Tracy
"All the helpers are fantastic. They can't do enough for you. There
is always a friendly, cheery atmosphere"
